Dodstone served as the Architect of Record for the Department of Financial Services’ (DFS) design/build facility, delivering a solution that balanced state-mandated requirements with the long-term needs of the building owner. Leveraging our expertise in innovative metal building design, we successfully met stringent design and performance criteria while maintaining cost efficiency.

One of the primary challenges was addressing two distinct sets of requirements within a limited budget. DFS had specific programmatic and operational needs, while the building owner required flexibility in design to accommodate future tenants, should DFS choose not to renew their lease. Dodstone’s solution incorporated current trends in office layout and workplace functionality, ensuring long-term value and marketability of the space. 


To enhance occupant well-being and reduce energy usage, high-performance glazing was strategically applied to bring natural light deep into the building core, supporting daylight access for the majority of staff. The site design and building orientation were carefully planned to take full advantage of views to preserved natural areas and the newly landscaped surroundings, enriching the work environment with a strong connection to nature.
