The People

Jodie Dodson, AIA

Founding Principal

Founding principal Jodie Dodson boasts over 25 years of service to Tallahassee.  A graduate of the E. Fay Jones School of Architecture, his extensive technical and construction process experience lays the groundwork for the firm's continued growth. Having served as president and director of the Tallahassee AIA Chapter, and currently as a Tallahassee Building Code Magistrate, Jodie maintains strong ties to the community he loves.  He enjoys cooking, traveling, and finding unique restaurant experiences with his wife, Laurie, and their children.

Karin Zawrotny, AIA, LEED LP

Karin [car-in] graduated in 1992 with honors from Carnegie-Mellon. By 1996, she was a licensed architect in the state of Maryland. Three years later she, her husband, and two children moved to Tallahassee where she quickly became licensed to practice in the state of Florida as well. At the office, she enjoys problem solving of all kinds. After hours will find her out on the trails back-packing, running, or refining her martial arts skills.

Micah Dodson, AIA

Micah joined the firm after a 5 year tenure as a bridge architect, where he worked on projects all over the world.  A graduate of Florida A&M University, Micah holds a Masters of Architecture degree, having graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2013.  After graduation, he completed his licensure requirements in only two years, an almost unheard of pace.  In his down time, Micah enjoys adventurous activities, light construction projects, and spending time on the water.

Jan Millán, Associate AIA, CDT

Designer and BIM Manager

Jan is enjoying his second year with Dodstone, joining the team with over three years of experience in design and BIM modeling. As a focused, bilingual professional (English/Spanish), Jan's design experience ranges in size from small private projects to full-scale, multi-phase, and multi-million dollar public construction projects. His passions outside of the office include traveling, cooking, and photography.

Lauren Shields, Associate AIA

Lauren first became interested in architecture while taking a class in drafting; that interest became a passion when she enrolled in Florida A&M University's School of Architecture. As a native to Tallahassee, Lauren brings to the studio an intimate knowledge of North Florida. Her many years of experience in the performing arts have developed her strong skills of form and presentation. Lauren is a recent graduate who spends her free time with family and friends while somehow also finding time to volunteer at her church.
